May 2012 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography – Level 1
I thought the Beginners Guide to Digitial Photography course with Jon was well worth the money. I feel so much more confident in my ability to take pictures and use my camera. Since I did the course I’ve been taking my camera out and about a lot more and taking more photos. I’m getting so much more enjoyment out of my photography now that I know how to take the images I want to capture. Before I took the course I was finding it very frustrating and couldn’t ever remember how to get things right. Jon taught us with examples and practical sessions to really help the information sink in. I’m hoping to come back to do another course with PCL in the not too distant future.

I thought the course was great. Exactly what I needed. I’d taught myself a few basics by reading books, but I really benefited from this kind of tuition. It was really useful to have someone experienced to explain the technical aspects. Books can be quite dry and the information just wouldn’t go in. After the one day intense foundation course I will never use the automatic mode again!

May 2012 Intense Foundation of Digital Photography – Level 1 and Level 2
Very good course! I really benefited from the level of detail, the smooth pace of instruction and the instructor’s ability to immediately bridge the gap between theory and practice. I took both the ‘Intense Foundation of Digital Photography – Level 1′ and the ‘Intense Foundation of Digital Photography – Level 2′ and now only use Manual mode on my Digital SLR. These classes are good value for money, as they are full day, mixed indoor and outdoor. I am definitely interested taking some follow up courses later on.

Apr 2012 One to One: Lightroom
One-to-One Tuition on Adobe Lightroom 3.4 with Barney.
I am a DSLR newbie, I recently attended one to one tuition at Photography Course London and I found it to be very worthwhile. Barney was able to accommodate my booking at late notice, and he was very knowledgable with Lightroom.
I would describe my Lightroom skills as fairly basic and self-taught prior to attending the tuition, however I am now confident in almost all of the functions within Lightroom to get the best out of my photos.
We spent 4 hours covering all aspects of processing photos: the Catalogue, Importing, Creating Collections and Collection Sets, Metadata, Organising my photo collection, Photo adjustments and understanding the Histogram, Slideshows, Printing proof sheets and publishing to the web (Flickr and personal webpage).
I took in my own photos of a recent holiday and we used these as the basis for the course.
I was really amazed at the improvements that we could make to them with his knowledge of the correct adjustments to make. I’ve attended several courses at PCL and this one met their usual high professional standards. Barney sent through thorough course notes of everything we covered in the tuition a few days later which was helpful for retaining the information.

‘The course gave me everything I needed to reinforce knowledge already gained through the years and freedom to ask questions referring to any grey/hazy areas that needed clarification!…Jon Mortimer’s Zen like / practical approach to teaching was exactly what I was looking for. He created a supportive bubble in which we could learn and develop existing skills. I now view Photography Course London as my ‘go to’ venue in the future for developing my skills & knowledge in the field of digital photography. I hope to return soon!’

‘This course is excellent if you have an interest in this subject, Luke was a very good experienced teacher. I have certainly improved on my skills, and take better pictures, the staff are helpful and freindly from start to finish, and I was fortunate enough to be with a great bunch of people on both days. A follow up to this workshop is a must, good value for money, recommended.’

‘I’ve done a few lessons/workshops/tutorial with the Photography Course London (PCL) guys and have enjoyed each one.
I started out as a complete beginner with photography, every shot I ever took with my DSLR was in full auto mode – I didn’t think anything more about it – but through various lessons and workshops, the PCL guys have really opened my eyes to the world of photography. Now I never use Automatic mode but actually decide on how I shoot depending on the subject or the effect I want to go for. It’s makes photography just much more fun!
The Lessons/ Workshops are done in a very relaxed manner – the tutors are passionate and experts in their fields and every student that I have met on a workshop has been great too – I find the workshops educational but also a fun day out in equal parts!’

‘Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the day. I had little camera knowledge, but was eager to learn using my Nikon D3100. Even with the first hour, I had learnt 3 vital techniques, apperture, shutter speed and ISO, how they complement each other and when they should be used. The rest of the day was perfecting these techniques and by the end of the day I had some great shots. Moving cars, various appertures, slow shutter shots to name a few. The group was all friendly and the tutor (Liane Harris) was excellent. With everyone being at the same level it was easy to learn off each other as well as Liane. Great course, with a bit more practice of what I have learnt, I will be booking the next level.’

‘I recently took part in the intense foundation/ beginners course and found it to be very informative and useful. The course covered everything I was hoping to learn about my DSLR as a beginner who has had a bit of a go and it was useful that we learnt how to do each thing on our various models, meant I didnt have to go home and struggle to work out where each button was on my camera.
Though the course took lots of concentration where it was an intense one day course, since then I have been out trying the techniques and have managed to remember it all and now feel confident that I dont need to use the automatic setting when taking pictures. If I go on to do a more advanced course I would most certainly consider using Photography course london first.’

Jan 2012 Studio Lighting: Portraits
‘This was a really good day of training. Both the approachability and teaching style of the tutor (Cleveland Aaron) made the day informative, fun and enjoyable. Working with a small group of students (who were all brilliant!) gave more opportunity for being hands on, which I think we’d all have benefited from.
Our portrait model (Leanne) was also good. Her personality was as lovely as her face, and she was both helpful and enthusiastic.
I came away with a better understanding of directional lighting, light metering, the importance of mood setting, and fresh inspiration from a tutor who is clearly passionate about what he does. I’d certainly recommend this course for anyone keen to develop their skills in Studio Lighting for portraiture, and will be considering what other courses I’ll be doing throughout the year.’

‘This was a fantastic course. Lots of fun and very informative. I was lucky enough to have Jon Mortimer as an instructor and he was excellent, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because we didn’t manage to get outdoors and test our new skills – I think it could have been a little bit more hands on. Overall though it was excellent – I learnt so much and my photo’s are so much better!’

Dec 2011 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography – Level 1
‘This was an excellent course. I took the Beginners Guide to Digital Photography – Level 1, which consisted of three evening sessions over three weeks, with each session lasting about 3 hours. It was great to both be in the company of like-minded students who want to further their understanding of photography, and also to be taught by a deeply-knowledgable tutor like Holger Pooten. The course went through the theory behind exposure and the relationship between ISO, shutter speed and aperture. Even though this might even sound basic, there is much more to the theory of exposure than you can learn online and this course really consolidated this theory for me and has changed the way I think about taking photos. The course then went through depth of field and also long-exposure photography, teaching me particular techniques that have proved incredibly helpful and which will stick with me far into the future. The course really packs in a lot of information and gives you just what you would want from such a course. The course tutor, Holger Pooten, was incredibly knowledgable and a good teacher, and was also very encouraging. I found it so helpful that I am now considering taking further courses. A highly-recommended course.’

Dec 2011 ONE TO ONE TUITION DSLR
‘Thoroughly enjoyable course. I had a three hour one to one with Adrian Wood who was very thorough, well prepared and had lots of professional on experience to draw on. He was able to explain all the theory that I needed and then the practical side of using the specific camera I own. Despite me being a practical novice int eh area his enthusiasm was contagious and I feel much more confident now and can use the camera in full manual mode comfortably if not speedily! The administrative staff were very nice and helpful too.’

Dec 2011 STUDIO LIGHTING: PORTRAITS
‘I recently did a course in studio lighting and I really enjoyed the course, I thought my tutor was more of an old school photographer who tried to get me to think ’outside the box’ and helped me to focus on what I was trying to say in a picture. I think too many courses focus on just the right camera settings and as a beginner it is easy to get caught up in this as well. But he made me see things from a different perspective and brought home the fact that composition, lighting and your point of view are paramount to a brilliant photograph. I truly enjoyed it, more than what I expected.’

Nov 2011 INTENSE FOUNDATION LEVEL 1 & 2 AND ONE TO ONE TUITION
I went from almost a total beginner to being able to take photos at a high profile maritime event in London and this is all thanks to the PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE LONDON. The tutors were excellent and explained everything very clearly & were always ready to take any questions from the class. The classes are very small & personable and I learnt a lot from Vicki the tutor. To finish off the level 1 & 2 courses I had 4 hours 1-2-1 tuition with Holger who was a very knowledgeable pro who has clearly been in the field for years and he really helped me understand a lot about the Canon 430ex speedlite & he gave me tips & also the confidence I needed to take photos at my companies event. I would recommend these courses to anyone as I feel like I have climbed a mountain in the past 3 weeks, it’s been a real pleasure and if I need any further training I would definitely go back to this company… Very happy customer

‘I thought this course was terrific. I recently attended the Intense Foundations of Digital Photography and I am really happy to have done the course and now use my new DSLR camera solely in Manual mode. I was not expecting to be doing this after just a one day course. The class size of 7 was perfect, and there was a good mix of theoretical and practical learning. The teacher Vicki Churchill was a very knowledgeable lecturer from one of the London arts universities, and she explained all topics thoroughly and in an easy to digest manner for beginners. I would recommend this course to any beginners looking to increase their skills and take much better photos. You won’t regret it.’

Oct 2011 ONE TO ONE BUTTONS AND FUNCTIONS
‘It was a good insight to the menus & functions of the camera especially for someone like me who cannot be bothered to trawl through a 300 page manual. It confirmed to me what some of the buttons are for and also taught me some very useful features that the camera holds. I would definitely recommend this to a total beginner like myself or somebody who has just bought a new DSLR camera or piece of equipment & wanted to get the best out of it.’

‘I really enjoyed my three week evening course at Photography Course London. The building is an unassuming little office, with a very intimate setting which is well-suited to the small class sizes (7) which means you get a lot of attention and time for questions. I took the beginner’s class and everyone was of an equal cluelessness (myself included) of the features on their camera, but by the end of the course we all knew how to use our cameras well and the fundamentals of aperture, shutterspeed and ISO. Really useful. Recommended!’

‘I’ve been interested in photography for some time but I’ve never had the confidence to use my DSLR camera as much as I would have liked to since I bought it 2 years ago. I work quite long hours so committing to a full-on course wasn’t the direction I wanted to go in so PCL was a perfect fit as the 1 day courses are very flexible and it’s all practical, which is exactly what I wanted after a 9-5 office job!
The course itself was great fun. The tutor (Jon Mortimer) was very knowledgeable, fun and friendly and in both classes I’ve been on, the other students were also very nice and friendly – it made for a very enjoyable day out. I also leant a lot across the 2 one day courses I completed (Level 1 and 2), I went from taking every photo on automatic to fully manual – quite a turn around in a short space of time! Highly recommended!’

‘I took the one day intensive beginners course and I cannot recommend it more highly. I learned a lot about my DSLR camera. The instruction from Jon Mortimer was extremely clear and helpful throughout and he made sure everyone felt comfortable asking as many Qs as they wanted. The class and facilities are set up to be small, friendly and unintimidating and it works. People were doing the course for all sort of reasons from family snaps to wanting to go on to make images for commercial purposes so there was a decent mix of DSLRs and participants, it was not all high spec cameras. I learned a huge amount to try out and put into practice and after a weekend of firing off shots I am much more confident with my camera. When I look and see a poor shot rather than throw up my hands I can figure out what went wrong and think about the adjustments I could try in order to resolve it in future. I am looking forward to taking a follow on course in a month or two’s time.’

My picture quality improved on the spot. Very pleased, will recommend the course.

He’s a very kind and open-minded person, ready to understand the students’ needs. ‘I attended the evening Beginners Course taught by Mikael Eliasson. I really enjoyed the course and learnt lots of useful information, including: technical pointers on what all the buttons mean on my camera, techniques such as creating depth-of-field effects, panning and long exposures, and generally playing with the shutter speed.
The tutor was very clear and easy to understand and follow.
In summary, this was exactly what I wanted from a Beginners Photography Course: an starter-kit to enable me to use and play with my camera in a more informed way.’

‘I attend a 2 hour course every month with Mikael. This suits me perfectly as I have found intensive one day and weekend courses on photoshop either move to quickly or slowly (depending upon the group) and also it is easier to absorb bite siize pieces of information. ‘I took the “Camera Language” course in April with Simon Warren. Overall, I enjoyed the course. While I was worried about not being in a proper classroom (the course is spent walking around London), I felt like it was fine: Simon always managed to squirrel us away onto side streets, where he would explain concepts or techniques to us, and then encourage us to take photographs. As a result, I now have a ton of pictures of London AND a better understanding of how to use my SLR!’

‘The beginners evening course with Mikael was really enjoyable and very helpful – it covered all the in and outs of the camera with a good balance of teaching and practice in the classroom. There were only 7 of us in the class so we were all able to ask questions whenever we needed to. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get more out of their SLR camera than just using the AUTO function. He clearly shows and explains why and how to use the ‘A’ and ‘S’ and even the ‘M’ to create great pictures. In the last lesson, you’re outside taking photos of the clerkenwell road using what you’ve learnt and putting it into practice which was great fun. I’m now going to enrol in another course to learn more – it’s definitely whetted my appetite! Thanks Mikael – fantastic teaching!’

‘After buying a DSLR, I tried to use it as often as possible. Although I tried my best not to use the automatic function I didn’t understand the terminologies and functions it had (mainly the S,M,A functions).I searched the internet and found this course, I had a look at the details online and decided to book the one day course ‘Intense Foundation of Digital Photography’.
I was one of 6 people (6 being the max) our tutor was Mikael Eliasson, he was very knowledgeable and very helpful.
The course, as it says, was intense but I came away from the day feeling that all the elements I wanted to learn, were covered. The course starts off inside a classroom and ends up outdoors to practice the methods learnt.
I recommended this course to a friend and after a week she came back with equally good feedback…. For anyone wanting to learn more about their DSLR, I would recommend these guys, they know what to teach and how to teach it.
After this course I attended another photography course through work, which cost the same £99 (10 sessions, 2 hours, 1 per week)
I can honestly say that on the one day course I learnt far more than I did in those 10 sessions!! I even had the confidence to occasionally challenge the tutors’ knowledge on the 10 week course! Ready for the next level now!’

‘I’ve just completed a day’s tuition with Cleveland Aaron and been totally inspired by his infectious passion for all things related to photography. There was no getting bogged down in the whirlwind of tecky geekiness of the machinations of photography. No. Everything was tailored to my needs, emphasis was on strenghs and weakness, possibilities and extending capabilities, Cleveland’s honesty was central to this learning process. He had an uncanny knack of building confidence in an extremely simplistic manner.Terrific value for money and most importantly thoroughly enjoyable, wish I’d stumbled on this course before.’

Jun 2011 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography – Level 1
‘It took me ages to choose where to do my beginners class in DSLR photography – mostly because most courses offered seem to insist on teaching people the real real basics – lots of unnecessary stuff like holding the camera etc. Although the guys at PCL would be more than happy to squeeze this sort of thing into their course, the course is pitched at the perfect level for someone like myself, who has invested in a DSLR and has really struggles to get to grips with the manual settings. I have recommended this course to lots of my friends.
The tutors are really helpful, massively knowledgeable in the sessions, but also responsive from an advice and admin point of view outside of the classes.
And the best thing for me… the courses are delivered in small groups (my group was super friendly) and delivered in a non patronising way, and by tutors that understand the beginner level, and have a genuine desire to teach people how to take photos. I was worried that being taught by a pro could be a bit tiresome.
….To give this review a bit of authenticity, my only ‘negative’ feedback is that the guys could do better hand outs of class notes – I would have found these really helpful. Saying that, this is a really practical course – you’ll walk away perhaps not being fully accomplished, but it will give the a solid foundation to go away and learn.’

‘Cristina was a great teacher, patient with people of all abilities and cameras and gave clear explanations and very useful handouts. There was a practical element to all the lessons, and some extra assignments to complete each week – the latter was especially useful for taking photos in daylight, as it was dark in the evenings when i attended the course. It was a great introduction and has helped me to get more out of my camera.’

‘Great 1 day intro to DSLR PhotographyCourse. (SO CLOSE TO 5 STARS!) Lovely teacher (Cristina). Classroom based stuff very informative and structured and we covered a lot of ground here. Got a useful handout, and used practial examples/images etc. Some of the ‘on location’ part was really clear, and we could see instant results using our cameras. Some ‘on location’ was less structred and a bit slow/unsupported, but overall i’d definitely recommended the course and was very happy with my purchase & day. I know understand my camera so much more, and know what i’m aiming for when setting up a photo, such a huge difference from my earlier “twiddle buttons til it looks better” approach. Really great for what’s squeezed into 1 day. Affordable, infomative and well worth it!’

‘Fantastic course with great instructor (Cristina) – I just finished a three week Beginners’ DSLRcourse, having always wanted to learn more about photography and take the camera off the ‘Automatic’ setting. Thecourse was great, very easily digested, with a good class size (5 in mine, but max of 7) that meant lots of individual attention. Good highlights of theory with immediate practical application to make the most of it. (Convenient location for the City and East London as well) Cristina was very knowledgeable about different camera types as well, helping everyone navigate through their menus with ease. All the staff that I encountered were very professional, friendly and helpful. I feel confident using the camera in Manual mode now and feel like I have the tools and knowledge to really start utilizing the camera’s full potential. I highly recommend their Beginners course and will definitely be signing up for future further courses with Photography Course London.’

‘I did not really know what I was expecting when I went to the course, but very quickly it became clear that Simon was able to explain the basic functions of how to use a SLR and I would actually be able to understand what it meant (which is not necessary the case when you read a book). Before the course I had used various functions of my camera, but never dared to use the manual function. Simon taught our group (8 beginners) step by step what it meant to use different settings under the aperture or the shutter function. As we learned while actually being out and about in London, we could directly experience ourselves what it meant and see the results straight away. Simon was explaining the different exercises in a group and then helped us individually when we got stuck. Everything became so much clearer during the 6 hour course and Simon mentioned to me in the beginning the course is not about creativity, but about learning how to use the manual function. While it sounds more technical (and actually in the end it is) Simon was able to transform the technical part in an exciting and rewarding experience. The course also included some level of creativity and even the not so creative persons (like me) were able to shoot some more creative shots. Already after the first half of the course I understood 100% about how a camera functions and how to take a good picture then before. The second half was helping us to combine some of the things we learned and also giving us more time to try them out. I would recommend the course to every person who wants to understand more about the potential of their SLR and who want to discover their creativity.’

‘I attended the Wednesday evening beginners’ DSLR course with tutor Cristina Saez. It was a great course to learn how to use your camera. including aperture, shutter speed, white balance, ISO etc and we got some real practical experience on how to take different types of shots with a series of practical sessions as part of the lessons and homework assignments too. The staff were all very friendly and the classes are restricted to 6 people, which meant we were able to all get time with the tutor and ask questions. Would definitely recommend and will be looking out for more courses soon.’

The course was overall good, but i expected more lighting setup rather than single lighting. i’ve learnt about high and low key, how to get the right light metering, and how to reflect the diffused ambient light properly, which gave me more confidence in portraiture. Honestly the course was good value for money, and iam looking to attend more advanced courses.
i enjoyed what i’ve learnt and Cleveland Aaron is very respectful personality and has a sense of humour.

‘Fantastic photography class with a brilliant tutor – Mikael. I don’t remember when I last learned so much in such a short amount of time. Not only is the concept great and you get to do ‘homework’ and discuss afterwards, you do practical sessions on site and see right away if you’ve understood what was being taught. There was plenty of room for questions and I feel that I absolutely got my money’s worth!
The location of the course was perfect for me as I work in the city and the timing fit perfect with a busy work schedule.
Would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to get acquainted with your DSLR and learn some basic technics from which you can then train to become better.’

‘I did the course with Mikael today. It started at 10.30am with a 45 minute break and was scheduled to finish at 5.30 (it was closer to 6 actually). There were 5 other participants and we were all at a fairly basic level. We all had different cameras, but that didn’t seem to make a difference – Mikael seemed familiar with them all, so could advise each person where to locate the particular button was for each function – etc. Mikael was very clear, gave simple explanations and used great analogies to help us understand what we were learning – important for me. Whilst most of the day was spent indoors, examining the various functions of the camera, and taking photos and comparing effects, there were a couple of outdoor sessions. I just had a great day. I will certainly be back for some more lessons. Thank you Mikael and Leela.’

He strikes me as an intelligent man, that can simplify the most puzzling, enigmatic or complicated use of DSLRs to just a few sentences, making it easier to take on board. His way of teaching is calm, precise and to the point.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day and being in the company of someone so experienced. I highly recommend this course to broaden your knowledge in amateur photography, and at the price they charge, you will NOT find anything remotely similar. I myself will be booking more courses with Mikael, to get me to that semi pro level and competence.
Do yourself a favor and book a course. You will not be disappointed!’

Nov 2010 Camera Language
‘The Camera Language course run by Photography Course London is an excellent way to learn your way around your new Digital SLR. Simon Warren’s knowledge and experience makes him the perfect instructor. I found it very enjoyable and look forward to putting my new skills to the test.’

Nov 2011 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘I attended the Beginners DSLR Evening course over the last few weeks and would recommend it for anyone with a DSLR and an interest in forgetting about the ‘auto’ setting. Cristina was a great Tutor who was able to explain all the main concepts we learnt in an extremely easy to understand manner. If you have an interest in learning how to start taking control of your camera then this is a great course.’

Nov 2011 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘An excellent run beginners course, that fit very well into my schedule. I couldn’t make the second night (out of three) but they were very nice in fitting me in to accommodate a catch up lesson. Cristina is an excellent teacher, very patient and answered all of our questions with much depth and expertise. An excellent course and would be interested in follow up lessons, particularly in the areas of night and travel photography.Thoroughly recommended.’

Nov 2010 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘If you’re a bit like me and are having difficulty telling one end of your new, vastly expensive SLR from the other, this is the course for you.
Digital photography can often seem quite daunting however Mikael is very patient and will help you understand the potential of your new acquisition in no time at all. If you intend to get the most out of the course, I would recommend that a few hours be put aside at the weekend to complete the homework.’

‘I thought Cleveland was an enthusiastic and inspiring tutor that made us all think harder about “seeing” a picture and being less hung up on technicalities.’

Aug 2010 Intense Foundation of Digital Photography – Level 1
‘I just took part in the intensive course for DSLR beginners and found that it exactly matched my expectations. The class size was just right with 6 participants and there is just enough covered in the day to give you a good understanding of the basics so that you can go away and have a good play with the camera. The practical sessions outside of the classroom were also very helpful to allow you to put theory into practice with the hands on guidance from the tutor. Highly recommend this course to anyone who is a beginner and has bought themselves a DSLR but doesn’t quite know how to get the best our of it.’

‘Wow i can’t say enough. I felt i got a lot of use out of the beginners course. Mikael goes through the course with the knowledge that you will take and use in years to come. This course definitely taught me how to use a DSLR properly and never to ever use the Auto and scenic modes ever again.
Great course Mikael…thanks very much.’

Jun 2010 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘I completed the beginners digital photography course. I really enjoyed and highly recommend this course. It was a very relaxed and comfortable environment, nicely situated in Farringdon. I found Mikael to be a great teacher, very calm, and very careful to explain functions of the camera properly and their relevance. He was great at answering all questions and taking care to ensure that everything was understood properly. I found this course really valuable, and that i really learnt an amazing amount in just three evening sessions. It also made me realise just how much i dont know at all about photography, but has really inspired me to practise and pay attention to what im doing, and i feel vastly more confident with using my camera, and excited to learn what it can do. I have always been interested in photography and spend a lot of my spare time taking photographs, but I think that had i not done this course, i would definitely have been stuck on auto mode for most of the time – and now im really keen to experiment and try and get the most out of my camera.’

Jun 2010 Studio Lighting: Portraits
I attended the Studio Lighting : Portrait course in April run by Cleveland Aaron for 6 people at his own studio. The course covered the use of both available light and studio lighting. Cleveland was very inspirational and informative and this was a great opportunity to learn directly from a first class professional photographer who was passionate in communicating excellence. Equally valuable was the opportunity to talk and practice with a small group of like minded aspiring professionals, swapping ideas and methods. I liked the small group in workshop style. And it was refreshing to work on communication through photography in addition to practicing excellent technical methods. I would recommend the practical nature of the course. I found I remembered the principles he taught without taking notes although he also sent his own notes afterwards.’

Jun 2010 TAILORED ONE TO ONE
I book regular one to one sessions at PCL and can’t recommend it highly enough. Mikael Eliasson is the ideal tutor – calm, patient, encouraging, inspiring and, most crucially, capable of explaining or simplifying some of most complicated aspects of digital photography so they are easy to take on board. The sessions are good value for money and take place in a very handy central location not far from Old Street/Farringdon. They have covered everything from flash to portfolio assessment and Lightroom and have undoubtedly moved my photography on to a whole new level.’

Jun 2010 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘I have just completed the Beginners DSLR Evening course and found it very enjoyable and rewarding. The course is extremely well structured with equal amounts of teaching and practical examples carried out in the classroom. Mikael’s teaching style is very clear, concise and patient – he makes sure everyone understands a point before moving on. The homework assignments give you an opportunity to put what you have learned into practice and Mikael will give hints and tips for any difficulties you may encounter.
As the course is reasonably priced and runs from a central location I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I’m now looking into the other courses on offer to help improve my techniques.’
Jun 2010 Beginners Guide to Digital Photography
‘The beginner course in DSLR is a great way to quickly learn the basics of photography in a calm and comfortable environment. It was also a great way to unlearn all the standard mistakes I used to make, and I suspect most people make when they simply turn on a digital camera and take a picture. The fact that the course is spread out over three sessions is also really good as this gives you time to try out newly acquired techniques and skills between sessions and ask subsequent questions at the next session. I would recommend this great value for money course to anyone seeks to improve they photography skills.’

Jun 2010 Studio Lighting: Portraits
‘Having been to a Studio lighting course, I can throughly recommend it, the instructor was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and above all passionate about the subject.
The course was well paced and very well priced.
The only criticism, if it is that, was the title was a bit of a misnomer, the course wasn’t so much a studio lighting course as just a lighting course, which actually means the knowledge taken away from it can be used anywhere rather than being limited to the studio.’
